Whale-Shaped Aircraft landed in Mumbai

On Tuesday, 22 November, a whale-shaped aircraft landed at Mumbai Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The passengers and the airport staff got amazed by the look and size of the beluga whale-shaped aircraft. This aircraft also known as A300 – 600ST Super Transporter, the Airbus Beluga offers a unique way to transport oversized air cargo.
 
As it is one of the largest cargo planes in the world, 56 meters long and 45 meters wide with its nose shaped like a beluga whale. It offers customers large cargo transport solutions for a variety of sectors, including space, energy, military, aeronautics, maritime and humanitarian sectors. According to the Airbus website, these transport planes have been operating for the company’s industrial airlift needs since the mid- 1990s, and are progressively being replaced by a fleet of six new-generation Beluga XL versions.
CSMIA tweeted, “Look who made a pitstop at @CSMIA_Official! The Airbus Beluga Super Transporter made it first appearance at #MumbaiAirport and left us all awestruck”.
