Assam & Arunachal Govt talk over border dispute

In an attempt to resolve the border issue between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the second round of regional committee-level talks was held in Guwahati on Monday, October 10. The discussions were held to finalize the report to be submitted to the Chief Minister of both the states. In the discussion Assam Government was represented by Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika while Arunachal Pradesh was represented by Environment and Forest Minister Mama Natung.

As per the media, the report was based on the committee’s visit to the four disputed villages in Assam’s Biswanath and Arunachal Pradesh’s Pakke Kesang district in September said, Piyush Hazarika. He further added, both sides discussed all the issues and agreed that the issue must be resolved by mutual understanding and a policy of giving and take.
