The State Government Would Withdraw One Lakh Minor Cases: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Digital Desk, August 16: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the State Government would withdraw one lakh minor cases including the charges of objectionable posts on online platforms. It may be noted that the state has a total of 400,000 pending cases.

Regarding this, Himanta Biswa Sarma further added, ”The reduction of one lakh minor cases will help judiciary in giving special focus to pending cases related to serious crimes such as rape and murder, among others.” Meanwhile, on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, he paid tributes to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for motherland.
