The State Government To Set Up 5 New Sainik Schools In Coming Days

Digital Desk, August 19: Five new sainik schools would be set up soon in the state. The announcement was declared by Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu. The new sainik schools would be set up under PPP (Public-Private Partnership). 

The new sainik schools would be set up at five places such as Silchar, Kokrajhar, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong and Dhemaji. It may be noted that on November 12, 1964, the only sainik school of the state was established at Goalpara.

Regarding this, Ranoj Pegu stated, ”A total of 33 sainik schools are there across India. The Union Ministry of Defence is planning to set up five sainik schools in our state. Till now the land has been alloted for the establishment of the schools and other formalities are in process.”
