Digital Desk, June 25: The official nominee of BJP-led NDA for Presidential polls Draupadi Murmu filed her nomination on Friday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She filed her nomination in the chamber of the Rajya Sabha Secretary General and the Returning Officer in the Parliament House complex.
Many dignitaries including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, many ministers of the Modi Cabinet, MPs were present during Draupadi Murmu’s nomination filing. Leaders of NDA constituents, leaders of Biju Janata Dal and YSR Congress, who had forwarded their support to Murmu were also present during her nomination filing.
Notably, Murmu had met senior BJP leaders including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and J. P. Nadda on Thursday. ”I will meet all the voters (MLAs and MPs) before July 18 and ask for support,” Murmu added. The election for the post of President will be held on July 18. The Opposition parties have declared Yashwant Sinha as its candidate.
