Shinzo Abe’s demise: One day of national mourning observed on Saturday

Digital Desk, July 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s demise. He also announced one day of national mourning on Saturday. ”I am shocked and saddened beyond words at the tragic demise of one of my dearest friends, Shinzo Abe. He was a towering global statesman, an outstanding leader, and a remarkable administrator. He dedicated his life to make Japan and the world a better place.”

Shinzo Abe passed away at the age of 67 in the Western Japanese city of Nara. Notably, Bollywood celebrities including Anupam Kher, Kangana Ranaut shared their condolence message on social media platforms. Kangana Ranaut wrote on her Instagram story, ”Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died after being shot, while giving  a speech in the western city of Nara today today. India lost a great friend. Om Shanti.”
