Digital Desk, August 19: Former Assam Chief Minister and current Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal left for Iran on August 18. Sonowal would interact with senior functionaries of Central Asian countries there.
The key objective of his four-day visit is to explore business opportunities. Sonowal would also observe the development of the first phase of Chabahar port.
Regarding this, Sarbananda Sonowal told, ”During my visit to Iran, I will assess the progress of the Chabahar port and look for business opportunities between South Asia and Central Asia. I will hold discussions with Iranian government functionaries, meet stakeholders of the Chabahar port and attend business-to-business meetings to explore trade potential.”
