Guwahati, December 27: The Chief Advisor of All Assam Students Union (AASU) Samujjal Bhattacharya on Sunday condemned arrest of a few AASU members. Notably, the police allegedly lathi-charged the members of the union and arrested them by entering the office site on Saturday.
“Such barbaric treatment of members of the organization will not be tolerated,” thus Bhattacharya expressed his thoughts on micro-blogging site Twitter. Meanwhile, AASU called for a 24-hour bandh after their members were arrested by Dibrugarh Police for allegedly assualting Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members.
