Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visit to Varanasi: Rs 4,000 Crore Development Project Unveiled

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Varanasi, his Parliament constituency, to launch development projects worth nearly Rs 4,000 crore. He sought detailed information from local officials about a recent rape incident in the city, directing them to identify all culprits and take action. Modi will inaugurate 44 projects focusing on infrastructure, education , power, and tourism, including enhancing road connectivity and laying the foundation stone for various initiatives. PM emphasized on the transformative role of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, particularly in safeguarding the health and dignity of the elderly. The Prime Minister also underscored the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, which guarantees free treatment for every citizen aged over 70, regardless of income. ‘’The initiative ensures free treatment for every senior citizen above 70 years of age, regardless of their income, ‘’he said, adding that Varanasi has distributed the highest number of these cards, with nearly 50,000 already issued. He described the scheme as a major relief for families, who no longer need to sell land or take loans for medical expenses. ‘’This is not just a statistic but a commitment to service’’, he stated, highlighting how the government has taken over the financial burden of senior citizens healthcare needs.
