The office of the Delhi Chief Electoral officer has tentatively set April 16,2024, as the date of the Lok Sabha Elections in a circular sent to the 11 District Election Officer (DEOs). According to a circular from the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO),Delhi, “for the purpose of reference and to calculate start and end dates in the election planner.”
CEO ,Delhi, shared on its official X handle that the date is merely for ” reference” so that officials can schedule events to plan activities as per Election Planner of ECI,” the post clarified. “…the date 16.04.2024 mentioned as a tentative Poll Date in the letter was only for reference purpose for the election officials to plan activities as per Election Planner of ECI and has no bearing on the actual schedule of election which shall be announced by ECI at an appropriate time,” it said. Later, the poll panel released a thorough statement in which it stated that the election schedule was unaffected by the letter’s suggested poll date.
