Digital Desk, July 14: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Darjeeling on Wednesday. Mamata Banerjee said, ”Though no political discussions are held between us, I am happy to meet Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.”
”When I visited Kamakhya temple their government helped me. I personally feel that healthy relationships should be maintained between the state governments. Several people of Bengal stay in Assam and vice versa. Assam also shares a border with Bengal so a relationship is important, ” she further added.
Himanta Biswa Sarma interacted with the common people of Darjeeling. He distributed chocolates between the children. He gifted Mamata Banerjee Gamosa and she gifted him Uttoriyo, a traditional Bengali scarf.
