Jaishankar and UK parallel Liz Truss concur to ease travel between two countries

Saswati Sarma , New Delhi , October 8 : Indian External Minister S Jaishankar and his British counterpart Liz Truss have held a meeting on Friday and agreed to facilitate travel between the two nations , a day following the UK government announced that no quarantine would be required for vaccinated Indian travellers.

According to the External Ministers , this would “help to implement the Roadmap 2030”. British High Commissioner to India , Alex Ellis on Thursday ended the course of what New Delhi described as “discriminatory” travel rules by London and therefore cited that there would be no quarantine for such folks from October 11.

In the previous month , London declared that the new rules made mandatory for 10-day quarantine and RT-PCR test even for those fully vaccinated Indians touring to the UK. Infuriated by the move , India in retribution inflicted reciprocal measures for the citizens of UK travelling to India since October 4.
