On Monday, Oct 10, at Union Nation General Assembly, along with more than 100 other countries, India also voted in favor of a public vote on the draft resolution and rejected Russia’s demand for a secret ballot, criticizing Moscow’s “illegal” annexation of four regions of Ukraine.

The 193-member of UNGA voted on a motion by Albania that action on the draft resolution would condemn Russia’s “illegal so-called referendums” and “attempted illegal annexation” of the Donetok, Kherson, Lukansk, and  Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.  Russia appealed against the ruling by the chair and this year’s UNGA President Csaba Karosi, however, only 13 voted in favor of Russia for a secret ballot, and 39 others stayed abstained, Russia and China being two of them.
