Guwahati, December 23: Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati researchers have developed cost-effective, highly efficient perovskite solar cells. This solar is easy to manufacture and easily recyclable at the time of producing electricity from the sunlight.
The solar energy is considered as the most sustainable among all renewable energy sources. Inorganic solar cell plays a major role in the market. Nevertheless, this requires high temperature processing, which results in the high price of solar panels.
“The Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs) research has experienced tremendous attention due to their expontial growth in terms of efficiencies achieved within a decade. However, the perovskite materials are extremely unstable towards ambient (humidity and Oxygen) conditions that restrict their commercialization,” said a release from IIT-Guwahati.
