Digital Desk, April 29: ”A network of 17 Cancer Care Centres in Assam will make treatment accessible to all as it is not a rich disease. Assam can now say that even a small state of India has been equipped with world-class cancer treatment facilities, ” Tata Trusts chairman Ratan Tata said at Cancer Hospital inauguration in Assam on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated seven Cancer Care Centres and also laid the foundation stone for seven more during the occasion.
”I dedicate my last years to health. Make Assam a state that recognizes and is recognized by all,” Ratan Tata concluded. The completed hospitals are at Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Tezpur, Darrang, Lakhimpur and Jorhat. Phase 2 includes construction of seven more cancer hospitals at Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Nagaon, Sivasagar, Tinisukia and Golaghat. It is noteworthy that Ratan Tata’s contribution towards the country in many sectors such as healthcare is undeniable.
