Digital Desk, July 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern over Assam floods. He also appreciated Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team since they are continuously working for flood relief operations.
”Assam is facing the challenges of life. Normal life has been affected. CM Himanta & his team are working continuously on relief operations. I have been in constant touch with the officials & the people there,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during an event for the Assamese newspaper through video conferencing.
Cachar remains the worst-hit district, followed by Nagaon and Morigaon. As per the ASDMA (Assam State Disaster Management Authority) report, 1,024 villages are under water. 29,781.23 hectares of farmland have been damaged. Two people, including one child, drowned in Cachar district. One people died in Morigaon district. One more child died in Nagaon district.
