Guwahati, November 16: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma conducted a joint inspection at Langpih. Langpih is one of the villages along Meghalaya-Assam Border. Member of Assam and Meghalaya’s regional committees examined parts of Kamrup and West Khasi Hills districts to resolve decades-old interstate boundary issue.
Taking to the Twitter, Conrad K Sangma wrote, “Hon’ble CM of Assam @himantabiswa Ji & I are on our way to conduct a joint inspection of Langpih, one of the villages along the Meghalaya-Assam border. We look forward to a fruitful day of dialogue as we work towards resolving our long-pending border issue.”
Regional committees of Assam and Meghalaya were in charge of interacting with villages, recording their assessment and submitting reporters for evaluation at higher level. This joint inspection is undoubtedly a confidence-building effort of the two chief ministers’ to come to a conclusion to resolve the interstate boundary issue.
