Digital Desk, May 19: Former Congress leader Hardik Patel resigned from the Congress on May 18. He was working as the President of  Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee. Notably, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasada, Ashok Tanwar and Susmita Dev had resigned from the party.

”The Congress became an obstacle on several issues on which the country was demanding a solution. Whether it is the Shri Ram temple, Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens, Article 370 or GST the Congress was an obstacle. The party’s stand was limited to opposing the Union government. People in almost every state rejected the Congress because the party could not even present its road map for the people,” Hardik Patel stated in a letter to Sonia Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress.

He is not in BJP yet and has not taken any decision as of now to join any political party, be it BJP or Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, as said by him to news agency ANI.
