Election Commission announce poll dates for three North Eastern State

The Election Commission of India will announce the poll schedule for assembly election in three north eastern state of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya today at 2.30 PM. This three states would be the first to undergo poll this year likely in February  march. The poll panel has covered a press conference at 2.30 pm in new Delhi for the purpose. The term of their respective legislative assemblies is ending on different dates in  march. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that over 13.9 lakh electors are registered in Nagaland and over 30,000 first time voters are set to participate in the fourth coming state assembly polls. Chief commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar had said the ECI has taken all arrangements to allow voters to join the Festival of Democracy and a voter faces any threat or intimidation on the day of polling voter can use CVigil app to inform the election authorities. ECI teams led by Chief election commissioner Anup Chandra Panday and Anup Goal concluded their visit to Nagaland and Tripura to review election preparedness last week. 

Apart from the three northeast states Mizoram, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana will be going ahead for elections for the year 2023 and the winner’s tenurity shall continue for the next 5years.
