8th December 2023- The 7th Dr. Anamika Ray National Media Lecture 2023, was delivered through online mode. ANAMIKA RAY MEMORIAL TRUST organizes this event every year to emphasize its vision to enhance media education.
This year the lecture was on the topic “Assumption of Post-Covid Realities and Communicating Real Life” by Dr. Golam Rahman, who is an educationist, media researcher, and communication expert of Bangladesh. Prof. Md. Golam Rahman is currently the editor of a Bangla daily “Ajker Potrika” and, he also served as the Chief Information Commissioner of the Government of Bangladesh. Formerly a professor of Dhaka University and many other universities in Bangladesh and abroad, Dr. Rahman focused on the rapid expansion of technology during and after COVID pandemic. While delivering the lecture he also emphasized the ethical issues that escalated after the Covid situation, which created a new phenomenon of thinking differently about real life. Post covid, there has been a sudden shift in all the spheres be it economic or social and this change is universal and we have to understand the intervention of technology in this scenario”, said Dr. Md. Golam Rahman.
The lecture was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the Trust Sri Rajat Baran Mahanta and moderated by a member of the Board of Trustees Dr. Geetanjali Goswami. The lecture was attended online by a host of academicians, students and communication professionals from South Asian countries.
