Centre tells SC that post-graduate  NEET-SS to conduct as per old pattern

Saswati Sarma,New Delhi , October 6 : The Central Government and National Board of Examinations on Wednesday notified the Supreme Court that it has dropped it’s decision to execute the new exam pattern for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Super Speciality (NEET-SS) 2021 and that the exam will be conducted in accordance with the old pattern.

The Centre represented by Additional Solicitor-General Aishwarya Bhati stated that the implementation of the new exam pattern has been postponed to 2022 and that the existing exam pattern will be followed in November 2021. A bench led by Justice D.Y Chandrachud conveyed it’s contentment with the government’e move. Ms. Bhati further informed that the Board of Examinations and National Medical Commission in the spirit of the students’s interests. 
Senior advocate Shyam Divan appearing for the doctors claimed that the rules of the game cannot be changed after it has started. The petition filed by 41 qualified post-graduate doctors challenged on the ground of lack of authority before the decision was made by the government.
