BJP-led NDA’s Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu in Assam

Digital Desk, July 6: BJP-led NDA’s Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu visited Assam on Tuesday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Atul Bora, Minister for Agriculture and Veterinary, received Murmu at the airport. Draupadi Murmu came to Biswanath Chariali in the year 2006. She was at Biswanath for around seven days.

She came to Assam to seek support from the MLAs of NDA and its allies. This is a part of her ongoing campaign. Murmu is set to meet MPs and MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) and UPPL (United People’s Party Liberal). 

Significantly, the 126-member legislative assembly comprises of 78 members of NDA with 62 members of BJP, on the other hand, AGP and UPPL have nine and seven MLAs respectively.
