Digital Desk, May 18: Rail and road connectivity are completely cut off from many villages in the state. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority said that a total of 96,697 people have been affected in Cachar district. SDMA added that New Kunjang, Phyangpui, Moulhoi, Namjurang, Dakshin Bagetar, Mahadev Tila, Kalibari, North Bageter, Zion and Lodi Pangmaul villages have been affected on account of heavy floods and landslides.
Notably, many rivers are flowing over the danger mark. The Air Force had evacuated hundreds of passengers since many trains were stuck in the middle due to incessant rainfall in the last couple of days. About 4.03 people have been affected in floods in 26 districts in the state in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote tweeted, ”Expressing concern over problems faced by citizens, he (Shah) said Central Government is ready to extend all possible help to Assam in this moment of natural calamity.
