Assam Cabinet approves re-examination of students failing in classes

GUWAHATI, Oct 8: As per the tweet posted by Assam Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on 7th October, the Assam Cabinet has taken several key decisions to improve the examination of the schools in the state.

The Assam Cabinet approved the decision of holding regular examinations for students of classes V & VII at the end of every academic year as well as in the condition of holding back a student under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Act, 2019.

However, the conditions shall be an annual exam for class V of LP school and class VII of UP school and the re-exam shall be held within 2 months from the date of  the declaration of final examination results, if a student qualifies the re-examination, then there shall be provision for his/her admission in the next upper class.
