APCC President Bhupen Borah Speaks against BJP, GMC Issues Notices

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah was sent a notice by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on the matter of constructing an illegal building at Niribili Path, Ghoramara in Guwahati. Reacting to the notice issued to him by the GMC, Bhupen Borah said that he do not have any house or land in Guwahati. The house and the that he stays are registered in his wife’s name. Moreover, He said, “I do not have any objection regarding the complaint against me, but I request GMC to examine all facts before issuing any notice.”

Bhupen Borah accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma that CM Sarma wants to take revenge on him because he spoke against BJP, the ruling Party of Assam. Attacking the BJP government, Bhupen Borah said, “BJP is drunk in power and does such things without any knowledge. I expect them to behave properly and avoid such mistakes. It is Worthfully to mention that the notice was issued following a complaint filed by Bhaskarjyoti Kumar and Hiren Bhatta, Regarding the ‘unauthorized’ construction of his building.
