‘Acharya’ Pankaj Pathak released on bail

Digital Desk, July 22: ‘Acharya’ Pankaj Pathak was arrested from Howly, Barpeta district, Assam by the Hatigaon Police for his controversial remarks about women on social media platforms. The Ayurvedic practitioner is later released on bail.

It may be noted that several complaints have been lodged against Acharya at various police stations. Pathak was arrested on July 21 as per the directions by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. It is known that Pathak was reportedly hiding in Muslimpatty at someone’s residence and the person was identified as Mridul. Pathak was arrested after his confession.

Meanwhile, Sudhakar Singh, DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) told in front of media, ”Pathak is granted bail as it is a bailable offence. He will be arrested again if he makes such remarks again.”
