Digital Desk, August 16: Dipanka Kumar Nath, President, AASU and Sankor Jyoti Baruah, General Secretary, AASU stated on August 14 that they would continue to oppose CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). They stated the same on the occasion of 37th anniversary of signing of Assam Accord in 1985.
They also called CAA as communal and unconstitutional. ”Names of illegal Bangladeshi still remain in the NRC and therefore it is not a correct NRC. The AASU and the people of Assam are not happy at the outcome of the NRC update process. We have already moved the Supreme Court for the reexamination of the NRC,” Dipanka Kumar Nath and Sankor Jyoti Baruah further added.
