Today marks the 74th Foundation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad

Digital Desk, July 9: ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) was founded on July 9, 1949. ABVP was established based on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. The key objective of the foundation of this student organization is to construct student activism. Though ABVP was established in the year 1948, but it was formally registered on July 9, 1949. Professor Yashwantrao Kelkar was appointed as its chief convener. It is mentioned that ABVP has around 30 lakh students members.

Significantly, July 9 is also celebrated as National Students Day. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took his social media handle to share his message, ”Greetings to every karyakarta of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) the world’s largest student body, on it’s 74th foundation day, also celebrated as #NationalStudentsDay. I urge every karyakarta of ABVP to follow the organization motto & dedicate themselves to nation-building.”
