Digital Desk, July 2: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma files criminal defamation case against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday at the CJM’s Court, Kamrup. On July 22, Himanta Biswa Sarma will record his submission regarding the case. It is mentioned that Manish Sisodia had reportedly commented before the media about the connection with the procurement of PPE kits during pandemic.
He said before the media that when Himanta Biswa Sarma was the Health & Family Welfare Minister, the department had placed an order with a company owned by Sarma’s wife for supply of PPE kits at a rate which was higher than that of suppliers. Meanwhile, Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma had already filed a Rupees 100-Crore defamation case against Manish Sisodia.
