Digital Desk, March 9: Voting was held for 80 Municipal Boards comprising 977 wards. Notably, candidates of 57 wards declared uncontested. The election was held for 920 wards. It is known that Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded 825 candidates. Indian National Congress has fielded 706 candidates and Asom Gana Parishad has fielded 243 candidates.
Asom Gana Parishad is leading in two seats and Indian National Congress is leading in one seat. According to the recent trends at 11.30 am, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 74 Assam Municipal Boards since counting of votes for the Assam Municipal Election 2022 is underway.
