Russia-Ukraine crisis: Deepshikha Das thanks Himanta Biswa Sarma

Digital Desk, March 1: Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi welcomed the students as the sixth evacuation flight from Hungary’s capital Budapest carrying 240 Indian nationals who were stranded in Ukraine landed at the Delhi airport on Monday. “From our hostel of our University, we came to the Hungary border where we changed the bus for the airport. The Air India flight was waiting for us. I want to thank PM Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for evacuating us safely from such a situation,” Deepshikha Das, one of the students hails from Assam added.

“Happy that 3 more students of Assam- Deepshikha Das (Sualkuchi), Prayash Sharma (Jorhat) & Avnish Phukon (Moran) – reached Delhi safely from Ukraine with Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India’s help,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said on micro-blogging site Twitter. Significantly, they were received by officials of Assam Bhawan where they’ll stay till their air travel to Guwahati is arranged.
