Ambitious India wishes to take responsibility on ‘Green Transition’ of world , says Danish PM

Saswati Sarma , New Delhi , October 9 : Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Saturday stated that India is keen to take the leadership of taking responsibilities for the matter of ‘Green Transition’ in the country and the rest of the world , in front of the Glasgow climate change summit. She is the first head of state visiting India since COVID-19 restrictions have been going on since last March.

Frederikson will pay visit to President Ram Nath Kovind and hold talks on bilateral ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She will also cooperate with think tanks , students and the members of civil society. Danish PM arrived in New Delhi on Saturday for her 3-day visit to India where she was received by the Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi at Delhi airport.

India and Denmark share strong foundation on trade and investment ties. Over 60 Indian companies are present in Denmark while more than 200 Danish companies have presence in India . They have a solid collaboration in the fields of water and waste management , science and technology , agriculture and animal husbandry , clean technologies , digitisaton including smart cities, shipping, ICT etc.
