Israeli military encircles southern Gaza after losing 24 soldiers.

Guwahati, 24, January: After the death of 24 Israeli soldiers, Israeli military have encircled the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. The war has intensified in the second largest city of Gaza. The city has seen heavy fighting in recent days, with dozens of Palestinians killed and wounded. Khan Younis is regarded as a personal stronghold of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Israeli officials have said top Hamas leaders may be hiding in tunnels under the city.

IDF has started an investigation into the disaster. They said, “We must draw the necessary lessons and do everything to preserve the lives of our warriors. In the name of our heroes, for the sake of our lives, we will not stop fighting until the absolute victory.” Israel said that the aims of its war against the Hamas movement that runs Gaza were unchanged, but that efforts were being made to bring about the release of more than 100 Israeli hostages.
