The Indian women’s double pair Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa on Sunday, December 10 won their second super 100 title beating Chinese Taipei’s Sung Shuo Yun and Yu Chien Hui at Guwahati  Masters badminton tournament . This is the third title for the Indian pair after Abu Dhabi Masters super 100 and Nates International Challenge this year. Additionally they were runners up at the Syed Modi  International Super 300 tournament last week in Lucknow.
The duo dominated the first game and continued their momentum in the second game as well. The Taipei pair fought back but Ashwini and Tanisha did not lose patience and clinched the final two points securing the title and as a result this win will factor into player’s qualifying rankings for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Later speaking about the match Ashwini said ” We are working on a lot of things. The important thing is to have an all-round game and not have a single-minded game”.
This is the first time an International Badminton event has been held in Assam since 2007. The pair will now head to Bhubaneshwar for the Odisha Master to consolidate their position in the world ranking.
